E così mi ritrovo a vergognarmi non solo di essere italiana in terra straniera ma pure di essere donna in un mondo che si professa per le pari opportunità ma che rimane sempre non dico maschilista ma uomo-centrico, pure nella testa delle donne stesse.

E quello che più mi fa "pensare" è leggere sulla Repubblica giornalisti di una certa fama e penso intelligenza dire
"la questione etica si è posta quando - nonostante la censura televisiva - è apparso evidente a tutti come Berlusconi fosse andato oltre le vanterie e le scurrilità misogine, quelle che ama trasferire nei comizi politici direttamente dallo show televisivo. Quando cioè il Paese ha dovuto fare i conti con un capo del governo che approfittava della riccehzza e del potere per costruirsi non dei flirt ma una sorta di dominio mercificato sull'universo femminile, di cui calpesta così la dignità"

and what makes me "think" is reading on Repubblica what famous journalists say:
"the ethical issue came up when -despite the tv censorship- it became clear to everyone how Berlusconi went beyond any boasting or mysoginist vulgarities, what he loves using in political meeting directly from tv shows. When the country had to face a PM who was taking advantage of his wealth and power in order to get not just flirts but a sort of commodifying control on the feminine universe, whose dignity he steps on.
Tutto questo scalpore per una cosa che già si poteva immaginare.
E tanta indignazione per il trattamento riservato alle donne.
//all this fuss about something that anyone could already imagine
and so much indignation for this "treatment" of women.
Quello che a me invece fa rabbrividere sono altre cose:
Innanzitutto l'orgoglio che membri del cosiddetto mercificato universo femminile mostrano nel dichiarare a tutto il Paese e al mondo di essere state pagate per fare compagnia a qualcuno o per fare non dico cosa su letti grandi e piccini.
Sono queste "donne" a offendere me in quanto Donna e tutte quelle persone che hanno lottato perchè le donne potessero guadagnarsi da vivere come fanno gli uomini, usando il cervello e non un paio di tette e cosce.

first of all the pride with which some members of the so-called commodified feminine universe show when they declare to everyone they have been paid for escortin or doing I won't say what on big and little beds. These "women" offend me as a "Woman" and all the people who fought to give women the right to work as man do, using a brain and not a pair of boobs or long tighs.
In secondo luogo mi da da pensare quello che leggo sui giornali più o meno seri che trovo in UK, dove ora vivo.
"il vero scandalo qui non sta nel fatto che il capo del governo possieda tv e giornali....che a nessuno gliene freghi...il rincoglionimento generale indotto dalla tv negli ultimi decenni ha creato una sorta di "amnesia morale"...."

Ha proprio ragione questo giornalista. La gente si scandalizza per questo e non per il fatto che viene controllata da un uomo solo rischiando così di perdere non solo libertà ma anche dignità.
La dignità data dall'essere cittadini di un Paese, di una Res Publica a cui tutti dovrebbero badare.
//that journalist is damn right. People get disappointed by this and not because they are controlled by ONE man, thus risking of loosing not only freedom but also dignity.The dignity given by being citizens of a country , of a Res Publica (from Latin: something owned by everyone) everyone should look after.
